Radiation therapy has been used to treat cancer since more than 100 years. It, however, comes with a multitude of severe side-effects. Proton therapy is a promising approach overcoming many of the downsides of conventional radiotherapy. Learn from Elaf Musa, a PhD student at DESY and Universität Hamburg, about the technical details and current state of proton therapy.
